The ladies of A.L.L.U.R.E. m/c have continued our efforts to make a difference in the community by partnering with AID Atlanta, a great organization that operates a unique AIDS outreach program dedicated to educating and informing women in the African-American community. On Sept. 16, 2006, several A.L.L.U.R.E members volunteered in the organization’s Sista “Saving Our Lives” (SOL) program at the recent For Sister’s Only event in Atlanta . In addition to distributing condoms and educational materials, members of A. L. L. U. R. E. m/c offered HIV testing and counseling for event attendees.
SistaSol is an outreach program focused on reducing behaviors that place African American Women at risk for HIV/STD infection and to reinforce healthy behaviors. For more information on this program and other programs with AID Atlanta , go to http://www.aidatlanta.org
